Parent-to-Parent Program
Parent-to-Parent:
Success for Every Child is
a free 90-minute interactive workshop.
Learn more about our state’s education reform system and
how to advocate for achievement in your child’s school.
The workshop
will cover:
-
Washington's
standards for student learning – how they were developed and how
they are driving the reform of our curriculum and teaching
practices
-
Understanding
the WASL – our state’s test to measure student mastery of
the standards
-
New graduation requirements for the Class of
2008 – what students must do in addition to earning credits
-
No Child Left Behind – what it means for parents
The workshop
can be requested by PTAs or other parent groups, community groups,
faith organizations – any group who would like more information
about the higher expectations our state has for all students.
Washington
State PTA and Partnership for Learning (with support from Washington
Mutual) have joined to sponsor this and other parent-focused
workshops around Washington State .
