Check out all the new changes that have been made to the 2025-2026 Reflections program!
- Accessible Arts Division: Additional information on participation details, including accepted and not accepted accommodations.
- Dance Choreography: Adjustments to emphasize that the student submitting the entry must be the choreographer. Performances of others’ choreography are not allowed (e.g., teachers, coaches, friends).
- Film Production: Added language about using film styles and techniques to relate artwork to the annual Reflections theme.
- Literature: Added language about using literary styles and elements to connect writing to the annual Reflections theme.
- Music Composition: Additional information to clarify students must submit both a reflective statement and a distinct artist statement. The artist statement should emphasize the Reflections theme, while the reflective statement should focus on musical elements.
- Photography: Adjusted to emphasize entries must not include added graphics, lettering, graphic-heavy filters, stickers, etc.
- Visual Arts: Added language about using visual arts elements and techniques to relate artwork to the annual Reflections theme. Also, removing packing instructions to allow local PTAs to provide specifics.
Expanding Access to Program Details
National PTA has expanded guidance for participants and PTAs of all levels. This will provide guidance and tips for participation as well as increase overall understanding of the program. To offer clearer and easier direction to access this information, they created three new, publicly available webpages:
- Craft an Entry: Outlines national-level requirements for entries generally and based on arts categories and divisions. Tips and tricks shared for creating entries, titles, and drafting artist statements.
- PTA Leader: Offers PTA leaders hosting Reflections, tips and directions for getting started, general program resources, and a new web-based PTA leader guide for step-by-step hosting directions.
- Students and Families: Provides high-level direction and tips for participating in Reflections through a PTA and connecting with state PTA for support.
