In a bill-packed day, WSPTA Advocacy member Danica Noble testified in favor of 3SHB 1228, building a multilingual, multiliterate Washington through dual and tribal language education. Danica shared her students’ experiences with a dual language program and encouraged the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee to pass the bill so that all students would have access to similar programs.

Also speaking at the Senate education hearing was Devon Kellogg, testifying in favor of E2SHB 1368, requiring and funding the purchase of zero-emission school buses. As one of the issues submitters on Mitigating Climate Change, Devon always brings strong facts to her comments and today’s remarks were no different.

Danica Noble also testified last week in support of E2SHB 1956, addressing fentanyl and other substance use prevention education. Danica encouraged Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee members to return to language in the original bill and to make this a requirement for students in schools.
