As the largest child advocacy organization in the state, Washington State PTA’s (WSPTA’s) power is in the grassroots efforts of our members. Our mission focuses our efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of all children and families. WSPTA members work from a comprehensive legislative platform to address issues affecting the whole child. Our comprehensive advocacy efforts include education, family engagement, health & well-being, and safety. Each of these areas impact the current and future success of Washington children — and our state as a whole.
WSPTA is recognized as the respected parent voice on many state-level committees, workgroups and councils. Designated PTA members serve as representatives to the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the State Board of Education, as well as other state-wide or national nonprofit groups such as the Learning First Alliance and ReadyWA.
