Testimony – WSPTA Supports Gun Destruction Bill

With the lobbyist for the NRA sitting next to her, Seattle parent Kate Levin did a fabulous job of sharing why the Washington State PTA supports HB 1010, a bill that would allow the Washington State Patrol to destroy confiscated guns rather than requiring the patrol to store and then sell the guns. Levin made it real, telling Senate Law & Justice Chair Jamie Pedersen and committee members that at the time of her testimony, her son’s school was going through a lock-down drill, something that no child should have to do as a routine safety drill.  Thank you to our members who continue to make the parent voice present in Olympia!
