Tip of the Week – May 5

Sharpen the Saw

We must never become too busy sawing to take time to sharpen the saw.” -Dr. Stephen R. Covey

To sharpen the saw means to seek balance in your life and to take the time to enhance your tools to become more effective in your efforts. In our busy day to day lives sometimes we think we just don’t have time and need to just push through. However, taking the time to recharge and reflect can actually help you become more productive and efficient.

As PTA leaders, we tend to think of others before ourselves. It seems to be etched into our DNA. Please take the time to tend to your own social and emotional needs to help you sharpen your saw to be your most effective when dealing with your family, your community, and your PTA.

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” -Abraham Lincoln
